Description |
Painting of a fishing village identified as being located in Etaples, France. In the foreground are three main figures: a woman standing on the beach carrying one child in one arm and holding onto another child with the other arm. The two children are facing the viewer while the woman looks toward the water. Several other figures are pictured in the background, mostly women wearing white caps. On the right side of the painting, in the distance, is a row of white houses along the shore. Across from the houses on the left side of the painting several boats are pictured, scattered along the shoreline. Overall muted tone to the painting. |
